BBT5 Mookie Time

Don’t forget to play the Mookie tonight. Unfortunately I won’t be home so I’ll miss out on the fun. Hopefully I’ll be back in time to catch the final table action.

For full details on the tourneys and prizes you can win in the BBT5, visit the Poker from the Rail site.

See you at the tables!

This week’s two for Tuesday is from Ministry. Ministry started out as an electronic pop band but as time went on they acquired a more industrial, harder sound. Listen to Stigmata in comparison to Everyday is Halloween.

And just for fun, enjoy this clip of Monty Python’s Ministry of Silly Walks.

Mary Monday

When I was five our family took a vacation to the Virgin Islands. I loved everything about the trip – from flying in a 22 seater plane from Puerto Rico to St. Croix, to swimming in the Caribbean Sea every day, to tasting tapioca pudding for the first time and to listening to the steel drum bands by the pool. One of my fav photos is of my dad holding my hand on the beach – he in his cool Raybans and me in my little girl bikini with ruffles on the bottom.

One night the band learned my name and played the calypso song Mary Ann. Every time I go to the beach I sing this song in my head.

By the way, the one thing I didn’t like about the trip was that I had left one of my favourite playthings behind – a small wheeled spaceship with a removable alien. How I had cried for weeks about my stupidity of not checking to make sure I had it packed up.

I searched the web for a version of Mary Ann and found this folksy one by Terry Gilkyson. Enjoy.
