Lighthouse International Film Festival

It’s that time of the year again – time to hit the beach, enjoy some films, and hang out with a great bunch of folks. I had a blast last year and this year looks to be the same. So come on down to LBI and join us for some fun.

LIFF

Once again OrangeYouGlad did the poster, website and program guide for the festival.

Check out some of the films you can see this weekend.

Mary Monday

This week’s song is Mary of Silence by Mazzy Star.

PLAY Mary of Silence

To go along with the gloomy atmospherics of Mazzy Star, your famous Mary of the week is Mary Shelley.

Here’s the trailer for Ken Russell’s Gothic, starring Natasha Richardson as Mary Shelley.

Alice

Check out the trailer for Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland:

The little snippet of the Red Queen and the Mad Hatter reminded me of Queenie and Black Adder (or maybe it was a bit more Lord Melchett).

I still haven’t made it to Tim Burton’s MoMA exhibit – but will do so during the holiday when our studio is closed.

Tim Burton

Oh Tim Burton, why did you have to go and marry the beautiful Helena Bonham Carter when you were obviously meant for me? Hell, I’d marry Helena Bonham Carter too if I had the opportunity!

Starting November 22, 2009 and running until April 26, 2010, you can see Tim Burton’s artwork and films at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
